Taylor

Taylor Swift may be the most unusual of pop stars: an artist capable of successfully cross the divide between pop and country while sweeping the globe. Swift left country music like it was a second layer and proved that she's possibly the smartest pop-singer/songwriter her generation. One who can harness the mood of times to make her music personal and also perform in the opposite. This was evident in her first hits, particularly the Neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album in 2008's Fearless showcased a songwriter discovering the person she really was, and, in doing so, gaining an audience of mass. Fearless was a huge success worldwide, not only in the United States (where it received six times platinum for the Top Ten Hits Love Story and "You Belong with Me") but in Canada, Australia as well as the U.K. and other countries. Swift's next album, Speak Now, released nearly two years following the first one, consolidated this success. It helped propel Swift into the spotlight. With her subsequent three albums, Red (2012) 1989 (2004) and Reputation (2017) Reputation (2017), the popularity of Swift grew, and she became part of a world of pop music in which it became clear she deserved to be. She was in the forefront of pop until she reverted to her signature style in her twin albums, folklore and Evermore in the year 2020.
