Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and a businesswoman. She is the co-founder and director of Thrive Global, as well as the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington has worked as an actor, journalist writer, television philanthropist and author for a decade. She also is the proprietor of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. From Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England along with her family members at 16 years old. At Cambridge University she earned a MA diploma in Economics. She was the first student who was not from the UK to serve as president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. After graduation she made her impression as a conservative syndicated columnist and, with the advent of The Huffington Post' few months later, she created a voice-based website that gave critical opinions about the current political climate. She was able to get many prominent contributors to share their opinions on culture and political issues. Arianna became famous in 2003 when she decided to stand as an independent presidential candidate during the California recall vote to succeed Governor Davis. Additionally, she was the leader of a Detroit project that promoted fuel efficient cars. The project was named 12th on Forbes' list of the most influential women in media. That same year, Guardian listed her among the 100 top media figures. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and she was made president of the group of media. It included a variety of AOL properties of the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and management consultant Konstantinos as well as his spouse Elli Stasinopoulos. Even though she was in a close connection to both her parents the bond between them that shaped her. Even in her early childhood, she displayed the qualities of a leader for which she has become well known. When she was 16 beginning her education with her native United Kingdom at Girton College Cambridge. She joined Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society as a student, where she was the third and first female to serve as president. She graduated in 1972 with a Masters in Economics. After graduating, she worked as a columnist critic and hosting a show on TV. The appearance she made in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also a highlight. She began to write books, taking his help in editing.
