Amy Smart is a former American actor and model. Her modeling career started in Italy in Italy, in which she was born and raised, before being was born in California. Her Costly Affair, a 1996 TV film that she played her first part in, was her debut performance. Then, in a minor role in the feature film Starship Troopers she struggled very hard. The transition was difficult for Amy because she had change from modeling to acting. Models aren't regarded as the best actors, so they usually play smaller, less important roles. Amy did her best to get noticed and she eventually landed larger roles starting in The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. In 2005, she took part in the leading role of the romantic comedy Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. The film was a major film at the box office and Amy was finally able to get the success she'd been trying for for more than a decade. Amy continued to appear in several of the most famous movies, including the Crank series starring Jason Statham as well as Shameless, where she played an enduring character.
