Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. Amy Smart, born and raised California USA began her modelling in Italy. Her Costly Affair, a 1996 TV film which was her first film part. Her fight to secure an appearance for Starship Troopers, a film with mainly minor roles was very intense. It was a hard time for her to make the transition from modeling to acting since the models were never considered to be good actors and were mostly granted smaller, insignificant roles. Amy persevered. She worked her way up to greater roles, starting with The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. Then she stepped into lead roles in the 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. Amy gained recognition after more than ten years struggling. Amy continued to make significant films, like Crank with Jason Statham or Shameless in which she was a beloved regular part of the cast.
